I get all sorts of interesting comments and stories from fans. This came from Justin, who's fighting the good fight for us over in Iraq:

Out here in Hell's Litter box, there are some things you come to know.
-Everything, from the locals, to the environment, hates you.
-Until you leave, there will be sand and dust in places you never knew existed.
-Never feed a desert lizard Mountain Dew.

Now, that last point is one that you can really only learn by first hand experience. We were out training in the sands of Kuwait, in 2002. Stopping for routine maintenance on the tanks, we were approached by some curious pineapple lizards. These creatures of the sand are about 2-4 feet long, and got the nickname by the shape of their tail. Now, Matt, a driver in my platoon, walks over to the lizard, which promptly enters into a staring contest with him, with its mouth wide open, flicking its tongue.
"Hey bro, I think it's thirsty, man," he says, without breaking eye contact.
"Well," I respond, "It is 130 degrees out here, so yes, I'd say it's a safe bet it's thirsty." After another minute or so of this intense battle of the minds, Matt finally breaks off the game and jumps up on his tank, to hop back down a moment later with a can of soda.
"Now... what the hell are you planning on doing with that?" I ask, alarms going off in my head. This fellow, he's from Guam. We once had to explain the difference between a cow and a horse to him, so his ability to care for animals could be justifiably questioned.
"I think... I think it wants to do the Dew bro!" He then got a crazy sort of glint to his eye, and before we could move, proceeded to pour Mountain Dew into the mouth of the beast.
We all stood there, holding our breath, not sure what to expect. The lizard then suddenly took off running, stopped, turned around, and charged us. Before it reached us, however, it stopped again, and began convulsing. Then it died. Just like that.
There are lessons to be learned here. First and foremost, Matt was never allowed to come in contact with a live animal ever again.

Edit: Now I'll admit I've never heard "pineapple lizard" before, so I googled it, and couldn't find it, but I'd hazard a guess he meant something like the Spiny Tailed Lizard.

Alrighty, Crowfeathers has joined Heavy Cat Multimedia/Hikousen Enterprises. This is another sci-fi/fantasy comics group, whose members you can see here: http://www.hikousenenterprises.com/

If you use Project Wonderful, you may be interested in their square ad, which is now shown on my index page.
