04:14 am - The purpose of art is to express the soul, or perhaps, the emotions we cannot seem to express coherently in conversation without coming across as an utter ass. Within the piece we can hide the truth of the matter, by changing the situation and characters, including the genders involved, or we can contrive a story of something that never happened at all, simply to express something, or something similar to what we feel like saying [but totally different]. Unfortunately when the subject is more poignant to sad or morbid, people start offering Prozac... But sometimes you want to say, "I love you," or "I hate you," or "I wish I hadn't said something so idiotic as that," or "You don't understand," or "Why won't you tell me?" or "Why don't you love me?" or any number of things, or many things together, which cannot actually be said due to crossing some invisible boundary that as yet exists, or possibly a more visible boundary, such as distance, including separation by death. Yes, I like to obfuscate via waxing philosophic sometimes. Especially at 4am when I should be sleeping. Current Mood: sad

11:50 pm - Hope for Horses If any of you shop at Krogers, you can help the Texas based horse rescue facility, Hope for Horses, by joining the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program. From their website: Kroger will provide a Customer Letter with a barcode for Hope for Horses Equine Rescue on it. Take this Customer Letter to your Kroger store the next time you go shopping, and present it to your cashier upon checkout. After they have scanned your KrogerPlus card you will be enrolled for the current year of the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program. Every time you shop at Kroger and use your enrolled KrogerPlus Card, Kroger will contribute a percentage of your eligible purchases to the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation fund. Once a card is scanned with the barcode, it will be active for the remainder of the program year.
